A cycle tour to suit you
We have several exciting trail itineraries to choose from including:
- the three-day Hawke's Bay Highlights Trail from $479 per person
- the Diverse Hawke's Bay Trail which lasts for five days from $799 per person
- and our special three-day Family Trail from $479 per adult & $399 per child
You can also customise your cycling experience by adding your own special touches with our various other Options.
Our reception centre marks the start and end point of all Tākaro Trails tours. Located in Bay View, only minutes from Hawke's Bay airport and just off the main route into Napier from the North, our brand new building provides the 'hub' of all Tākaro Trails activity. Before you begin…
Before you begin your journey, we'll set up your bike to suit you ensuring optimum comfort on your ride. You'll also be provided with daily riding instructions, a local area map and information on suggested sightseeing options and activites for the duration of your stay. A quick lesson on basic repairs and bike adjustments is provided and you will also have the opportunity to purchase merchandise including riding gloves, gel seats and cycling clothing.
Our bikes
Our bikes are top of the range 24 gear, hybrid style, Scott Sportster touring bikes which provide an upright riding position taking the pressure off your neck and wrists. These bikes also feature front suspension, comfortable saddles and are fully equipped with panniers (optional), odometers, locks, bottle holder and emergency repair kits.
For safety reasons all cyclists must wear a correctly-fitted, legally compliant helmet. Tākaro Trails can provide a helmet but you are very welcome to bring your own or purchase one prior to your tour.
All cyclists are required to comply with New Zealand road safety regulations while on tour.
