There are many exciting ways to tailor your holiday package to provide exactly what you want.  Here are just a few ideas, and if you have other ideas you'd like us to investigate on your behalf or would like more information contact us.

Leisure and lodges

Take a more leisurely and luxurious approach to your cycling holiday, experiencing some of the more gentle sections along our routes.  Cycling is limited to 25km per day and your stay at local luxury lodges will be for a minimum of two nights at each location.

Options for golf, balloon rides, sightseeing tours, beauty treatments at exclusive spas and long lunches at spectacular winery restaurants can all be arranged.  These lodges and activity options are popular, so weekends are best avoided due to limited availability.

Kids off the bike day

Children often get bored at wineries but we know that parents still enjoy the wine and great food offered in the winery environment.  Why not consider our 'kids off the bike' option, where everyone gets to have a whole day of fun!

Your children will be collected from your accommodation at approximately 9.00am then taken by our Tākaro Trails caregiver for a day of fun suited to kids.  They will be delivered with their bikes to your next accommodation spot around 4.00pm.

Caregivers are provided by Rockmybaby Nanny and Babysitting Agency.

As an example, we recommend a safari to the Cape Kidnappers Gannets Colony in the morning followed by an afternoon of watery fun at Splash Planet during the summer, then end the day with a visit to the legendary Rush Munro's ice cream garden for a cool treat.  Other options include visiting the National Aquarium of New Zealand, Par Two Mini Golf, Haumoana Farmland Zoo, the Amazing Maze and Wool World Shearing Shows.

Cost is subject to activities chosen and number of children participating.

Golf at Cape Kidnappers

Ranked among the top 50 golf courses of the world, Cape Kidnappers golf course is an essential experience for any keen golfers visiting Hawke's Bay.  Extend your stay in Havelock North and let us arrange a round for you.  We will deliver you and your clubs to the course and collect you when you're ready.  And no need to worry, your clubs will be safe too!  We are happy to securely store your golf clubs at our reception centre.

Cost is dependant on the number of golfers participating.

Restaurant bookings

Let us take the hassle out of deciding where to eat by having us make your restaurant reservations prior to your arrival in Hawke's Bay.  We're in the know about the best places to go, and the most popular venues often book up fast so you need to secure your bookings early.

There are many wonderful eateries to choose from, but we can recommend Black Barn Winery restaurant, Terroir at Craggy Range and The Post in Havelock North.  Take 5 restaurant and jazz bar and Chambers restaurant at The County Hotel are favourites in the Napier CBD.

In Hastings savour the award-winning cuisine of Vidal winery restaurant and if you want to sample a taste of Taradale visit The Old Church restaurant and bar or the Mission Estate Winery restaurant.

Extra night in Waipawa

Why not add an extra night in Waipawa to your five day trail.  We can certainly recommend it!  With riding days to and from Waipawa in excess of 50km it is especially enjoyable to break those rides with a day off the bike.
