2 Day Baycation​​

You will love our 2 day, 2 night Baycation Cycle Getaway! The FULL package includes two self-guided cycle tours over 2 days, 2 nights accommodation, quality bikes and full support while on the trails.

We have scenic cycling on our flat, easy OFF ROAD trails direct to world-class wineries and welcoming local cafes and restaurants with fresh, tasty food.  You will be riding dedicated cycle pathways, through coastal, orchard and vineyard country and staying in boutique accommodation in the seaside village of Ahuriri. Make it really special – we can arrange lunch and dinner reservations at one of the top Hawke’s Bay restaurants – there are a lot of incredibly good dining places to experience here. Check your options here.

DAY BY DAY BRIEF:

Travel to Hawke’s Bay to your accommodation in Ahuriri, Napier. Depending on your travel arrangements and timing, drive directly there for check in or be met by our complimentary shuttle at the Hawke’s Bay Airport for transfer to Ahuriri. If you arrive before 10am you can get riding on arrival day! 

Ride 1:  Cycle 30-45kms along flat, easy pathways around the Ahuriri Estuary Trails.
These diverse trails start with a costal blast along the trail to Bayview, then onto the Ahuriri Estuary Trails to Taradale (with 2 amazing wineries to visit). You’ll start from our base with a tour briefing and find the best bike for you to ride (flexible start time so you can relax or travel here in the morning). Stop for lunch/morning tea at Crab Farm winery with a short cycle on to Church Road and Mission Estate winery.  Spend the rest of the day riding back to our base in Ahuriri. Take the short route back or add extra km’s on and head back via Napier for a longer ride (45km). Either way gives you tons to see! 

Ride 2:  Cycle 16-35kms along flat, easy pathways to Cape Kidnappers.
Have a leisurely start with breakfast at one of the cool cafes in Ahuriri. When you are ready to go (mid morning is good!) come to our base, collect your bikes and get your instructions (and map) to begin your cycle to Cape Kidnappers. You can visit one or all of the Cape Kidnappers cluster of wineries – Elephant Hill, Clearview and Te Awanga Estate for wine tastings.  

Lunch (cost to be paid direct to winery) is at the gorgeous Clearview Estate . Our van will pick you up after lunch (around 4pm TBC on the day) to transport you back for another night at your accommodation in Ahuriri or on to transport to get home.

Depending on your needs and wants – spend more time here and great half day activity is to spend some time shopping in Napier, take an Art Deco walking tour, visit the Farmers Market (Sundays only), take a tour out to the Cape Kidnappers Gannet colony before heading back home. Tell us what you want, we can make bookings on your behalf.
