LUX Hotel Package – the Crown Hotel in Ahuriri, Napier, offers luxurious waterfront accommodation with stunning ocean views, combining modern amenities and historic charm (or equivalent if not available). A very short 2 minute walk to our base.
Standard Motel Package – the Rocks Motel in Westshore, Napier. Very convenient to the row of bars and restaurants overlooking the Napier harbour. Excellent comfortable motel facilities. A short 10 minute walk to our base.
Based on 2 people in a studio room (double or twin), subject to availability.
Included in BOTH Packages: ride an effortless e-bike, have fun and arrive in style at the winery cellardoors! Easy to do the longer distances each day if you want to ride more.
Standard Pushbikes available – just let us know your choice and we will book for you.
There are “No Worries” to be had on your tour! Included in your package: guaranteed best bikes, extra-comfortable gel seat cover, a bottle of water, mobile phone holder, bike theft insurance, plus an all-important carrier bag (to hold all the bottles of wine that you will buy!).
There are approx 200km of Hawke’s Bay Trails criss-crossing our region. We will provide you the routes to follow (via an online app). These range from 35-65km each day. What will you do? BEAST mode it? or keep the energy for FEAST mode?
Get in touch if you’re keen on your own room, we can apply a single supplement. From $250-450 (depending on what type of accommodation you choose).

Your 3 Day RIDE Tour Itinerary
Below are the rides on your 3 days cycling with 3 nights accommodation in Ahuriri. Each day you will return back to Napier for the night. There are options for your daily distances – if you want Beast Mode then we can add more trails but if you want Feast Mode then we can give you the shortcuts and add in more wineries! Day 2 and 3 you will arrange to meet our shuttles approx 4pm to return to Napier.
Depending on your travel arrangements and timing, if you arrive before 12pm you can get started riding on arrival day!
Ride 1: Ahuriri Estuary Ride
Start your Hawke’s Baycation adventure with a 40 – 65km cycle along flat, scenic trails around the Ahuriri Estuary, via Bayview visiting Crab Farm, Church Road and Mission Estate wineries. Book your lunch at Church Road or Mission Estate and eat in style.
FEAST MODE 40km: Enjoy a cruisey return to Ahuriri via the direct loop estuary trails, or
BEAST MODE 65km: Cycle the extra route up the river trails to Puketapu to visit the iconic pub and return to Ahuriri via the Tutaekuri River trails to Marine Parade and north to the port.
Ride 2: Cape Kidnappers & Havelock North Ride
After a relaxed breakfast in Ahuriri, get started on a 35-60km cycle to Havelock North.
You have two options today:
FEAST MODE 45km: Ride the coast and explore the best of award-winning wineries, including the Te Awanga treats – Elephant Hill, Clearview before heading to Havelock North along a quick 13km ride down the Tukituki River trails to Askerne, Te Mata and Black Barn. All have amazing cellardoors and leisurely lunch options. Shuttle back to Napier.
BEAST MODE 60km: Starting from our base in Ahuriri Napier, follow the coast down to Clive where you will turn inland up the Ngaruroro Trails to Bridge Pa. Then its onwards through Hastings City to end at Havelock North village.
Ride 3: Tuki Tuki Loop Ride
Begin your day with a shuttle to Clifton to start the 35 – 60km back-road cycle around the stunning Tuki Tuki Loop.
FEAST MODE 40km: From Clifton head to the Tukituki River trails and up the roads along this picturesque valley to Red Bridge with views from the hills. Stop for a scone and a coffee before heading to the Award-winning MUST STOP winery Craggy Range. Enjoy incredible ambience then after one last hill you can stop at Havelock North Black Barn for a cold Blanc to Blanc and relax before meeting our shuttle return to Ahuriri.
BEAST MODE 65km: Do the above but don’t stop at Black Barn – keep pedalling and return up the river trails to the coast and ultimately back to Ahuriri Napier. You are a beast – hills and distance!
